Crowcombe Court Wedding Photographers – Emma and Paris’s Day

As Devon based wedding photographers, we frequently cross the border into Somerset to capture wedding photography at Crowcombe Court.  Emma and Paris chose the perfect venue for their summer wedding.

Grade I Listed Crowncombe Court is an English country mansion house built in 1739.  The exterior has a baroque style whilst the interiors have a Georgian feel with four impressive function rooms and stunning gardens and grounds with views across the Quantock Hills.

Its unusual English regional baroque style of architecture makes it a truly beautiful house.  And no matter how many times we return to capture wedding photography at Crowcombe Court.  Our first glimpse of the house always takes our breath away.

On the day, we headed to Crowcombe Court early so we could capture some morning of the wedding images as well as some images of the venue.  On our entry into the estate, we got lucky and managed to photograph some deer grazing in the parkland.

We found Emma and her bridal party in Crowcombe Court’s gorgeous new ‘Getting Ready Room.’  It was spacious and airy with everything Emma could need for her preparations.  Emma was in the capable hands of hair stylist Lianne and make-up artist Romi.  There were three generations of bridesmaids, mothers, flower girls and babies and the atmosphere was just lovely.

We then caught up with Paris and his grooms party who were getting ready in The Gallery which is a second newly refurbished getting ready area that includes a pool table.  Paris was in the capable hands of his best men Arron and Matt.  They all looked very smart in blue/grey check three-piece-suits with pale gold ties.

By now Emma was ready and looking stunning.  She wore a gorgeous dress with thin straps and a beautiful A-line shape skirt that gave her an amazing fairytale silhouette in all of our images.  She bought it at Tavistock Bridal Reloved.  Emma held a simple yet colourful posy of flowers that was created by florists Bracken and Bloom, who did all of the flowers on the day.  Emma’s two bridesmaids Vicki and Sophie looked elegant in pale gold dresses.

For the ceremony, Emma made a dramatic entrance on her father’s arm down the feature staircase and into The Great Hall.  A stunning stately room where the intricate original Italian plaster work provided a grand and luxurious backdrop for Emma and Paris’s wedding photos.

As the weather was mild the grand doors were thrown open to reveal the gardens and views of the beautiful Quantock Hills beyond, and they served as a beautiful backdrop as Emma and Paris said their vows.

Storytelling wedding photography at Crowcombe Court

The wedding breakfast was held in Crowcombe Court’s Victorian Ballroom.  This majestic chandeliered room has stunning ceiling to floor windows that offer spectacular views.

Speeches were before the food which is always a good idea and were delivered by Emma’s father, by Paris and by best men Arron and Matt.  And they all went down very well with everybody.  There followed a delicious wedding breakfast prepared by Crowcombe Court’s talented team of in-house chefs.

The weather in the afternoon really picked up with some sunny spells.  So as Emma and Paris’s guests were happily milling about and enjoying exclusive use of Crowcombe Court.  We quickly whisked them away for a few minutes for a romantic photoshoot.  We got some great images.  Here, take a look!

Evening celebrations were held in Crowcombe Court’s Vaulted Undercroft and started the cutting of a delicious looking three-tiered wedding cake that had been made by Emma and Paris’s friend Ryan.  This was followed by a romantic first dance and then a sweet father daughter dance.

It wasn’t long before the dancefloor was full with at least three generations all dancing together which was lovely to see.  With the sun now set and the dancefloor full, it was time for us to take our leave.

We’ll leave the last words to Emma and Paris. Here’s what they had to say about us!

Gavin and Samantha were brilliant. They made us feel relaxed and at ease, guiding us through the day. Nothing was too much trouble and they really worked hard to get some great shots, we’ve seen some of the photos and cannot wait to see the rest. We really would recommend them to anyone, we had great fun with them and can’t imagine the day without them”
